24 hour URINE URIC ACID TEST RESULTS-
ABOUT TEST-
- Urine uric acid test checks the amount of uric acid present in the urine. Uric acid is dissolved in the blood and passes down through the kidneys when you urinate.
- The disintegration of cells as they age and degenerate produces uric acid. The kidneys filter the majority of uric acid, which is then excreted in the urine.
- The body's ability to eliminate uric acid correctly can be harmed by impaired kidney function. Conditions that promote an increase in cell disintegration, such as certain types of cancer treatment, can also cause elevated uric acid levels.
